I'd like to get into some Tai Chi and Tai-bo. The Tai-bo will help work off some aggression and help with self defense. Tai Chi is just for grounding, centering and meditation purposes.

I have the 5-day Fit: Yoga DVD, I get bored if I have to do the same thing every day and this one helped. The Yoga for Beginners is a good place to start if you are new to it. If you don't start out basic, your body will not like you and you will They do have recommend props (bricks, straps), but I have always done without.

I gotta look for my gaiams.....I been rearranging house bits again.
I absolutely love the Tai Chi ( I think I mentioned that before).
VERY relaxing. Very calming.
I am currently working on revamping my lifestyle so I am more focused n blah blah blah.
So far have managed to kick the Marbs, get rid of the rum, turn the caffeine into an almost nonexistant trickle, stick to my vitamin goodness and watch my sugar and salts......
I've added a daily meditation ( Usui Reiki Principles doing the Gassho hand pose) and am trying to get motivated into getting up early for a workout......maybe some Tai Chi.....
I'm getting the healthy part down....now I am waiting for the happy to kick in !

so I figured I would start off with that and move up, to yoga and Tai Chi..
I have been interested in chi/energy/life force, this runs across a lot religions/beliefs etc must be something to it you know.....
I quit doing it awhile back, because my dog and dog(s), always get up in my face. KIND OF hard to concentrate, to get to the spot/frame of mind.
I too have a bad back, more tension from stress, the weight on my shoulders, sinuses etc. So I have been stretching, or just more basic of basic moves. AND my dog came running....
I watch Dog Whisper, and Caesar and few other dog trainers, have said your energy etc extends to your dog. I also watched couple shows that showed yoga with your dogs.....
another epiphany
NO WONDER THEY WANTED TO JOIN THE POWER, THEY WANTED SOME OF THAT ATTENTION AND ENERGY.....
Yup. Animals ( like people) come in various shades of sensitive to energy. I've had animals that were extrememly sensitive to spirit ( ghosty) activity and others who were about aware as comatose bricks.
Currently I have 3 out of um.... A LOT.....of animals who are energy hogs.
Ems- my pitbull mix. If you are sick, upset, angry or worried she is right there with her big brown eyes and tongue of lickitallaway wonder. She is sensitive to ghostys and LOVES high energy people ( or people who throughit off without knowing). She once peed herself stupid because she would na budge away from a friend of mine......
So yeah we call her Dr. Ems or Nurse Ems ( or I call her Tattletale when I am in a quiet bad mood....because there she is all worried n the like).
Hoodlet - Ohmygosh this cat is so bad! Her addiction is Reiki energy ( Universal energy commonly used to help heal, balance and harmmonize). She will soak that stuff up all day long until she is in a coma if she figgers out ( and she always does) if I am using it.
El Pollo - He's a fish. Bubby likes to give this fellow Reiki and Pollo just suckkkkks it up. He also acts very much like a dog....no really. We get home the dogs jump us. We walk by the tank and Pollo is doing the fish equivalent of trying to greet us....I am so glad that tank has a top.
So yeah your puppies are like "OMG you feel that? Yeah do you? Yeah? WOW! What's she doin? I dunno lets go check it out!"
So when you gonna take some time to play with, discover, discover, work with your energy or meditate or practice exercises in centering and grounding....do it away from the puppies. They mean well they do. They just what I call "anti-help" due to curiousity and all that.
*hugs*

My balance and grace (lack there of) are part of my struggle with Yoga but since I've been doing it I've toned up a lot and I've also got a better balance though my center of balance is way off...then again I feel really odd when I find it...I'm use to putting most of my balance on my heels...I think its because I'm so chest heavy.
Please Macha do na slap me too hard here....
Had a mental image to help you with the chestiness...
it involves a tray to place your "puppies" ( as I call the chestage area) upon....and it's attached to wheels...so you can just roll your front end around....
Okay I am now oooooofffiiiccciiaallly running now....
