If you are not sure what Manga is see my post "Manga- Pet Shop of Horrors" (that way I do na have to keep repeating myself in manga related book reviews).
So what is Uzumaki about? Evil swirlies. I mean spirals...yea because that sounds more menacing.... No I am so serious. Uzumaki means "spiral" in japanese . Some how they are everywhere and possessing people.....snail shells , noodles, little wind storms.....anything that swirls..er...spirals is not to be trusted......

You are so right! This is in the horror genre because while the nature of evil spirals coming to possess you or your closest friends may not be scary ( at first....), the graphic illustrations are definately well done and creepy. Not to mention that the further you get into the series the more disturbing the content is ( though the ending was beyond me).
I totally enjoyed it for what it was worth.
Oh and if you can't find yourself wanting to read it you could always watch it. yup. A live action Uzumaki movie. I personally thought the manga was better.
