I have a friend who I have had this same dream about twice.
He's sitting in a cream coloured room, on a black leather couch, wearing nothing but black leather pants and he's reading The Time Traveler's Wife. I come in and see what he's reading and get really upset and I take it away from him. It feels like something really bad will happen to him if he reads this book.
I have no idea why that particular book. It's one of my favourites! It's also the only dream I've been able to remember in ages.

I'm not familiar with that book.
What kind of person is he? Like mellow or adventurous? Patient or rash?
How do you interact with him?
How do you take to change (in general and in relationships and by that I do na just mean intimate ones, I mean relationships with others in general)?
Those are just some questions to ask yourself in regards to your dream ( along with what do the colors cream and black make you feel).

The book is basically about a man who involuntarily time travels back and forth mostly in his own life span, and his wife who is forced to wait for him to come home, hopefully safe.
He's a sweet person, very humurous and we have a good time dorking out together . There is also a mutual physical attraction that will never go anywhere other than some flirting because a) I'm engaged and happy and b) we both know it would never go anywhere!
I think cream and black are sexy colours for lingerie!
That book was given to be by another friend when I was married before. It was an abusive marriage to a Marine and the friend who gave it to me told me that I reminded him of the main character, Claire...because she is always waiting for Henry to come home. The friend I had the dream about knows very little about my marriage and don't like to tell people about it because they seem to want to put me in that 'victim' box and treat me differently. So I'm thinking that maybe the book reflects stuff about me that I don't want him to know, so I don't want him to read it. Or maybe I just don't want such a fun friend tied to such a horrible part of my past.
Or maybe I just analyze stuff too much!!

It could be that you just answered your own "?" Heehee!
If you don't want your friend knowing about your past because you are afraid he will treat you differently, and you identify with the main female character in the book then really if you think about it, that does make total sense.
"If he reads this book then he will KNOW!!!" <---don't you jist looove DreamLand thinkology?
Mostly when it comes to figuring out your dreams, it's just a matter of sitting down and slowing down for a moment and picking it a part a bit ( I think over analyzing it would have been spending hours at Home Depot or something trying to find THE EXACT color of creme or black and then trying to finaggle out what that particular shade meant to you ).
