This one I had a few days ago. Again REAL lucid even when things got reeeeeeeedicoohlous. It was SO real feeling that I woke totally exhausted (you'll see why). I gonna warn you it's a long one.
So I live in some area under an overpass. Lost of cement and patches of grass. I like it there well enough. Until some dude jumped. He splattered everywhere. Very messy. Dunno how he ended up UNDER the overpass. Practically smack left of the area I liked to think of as the living room. This was bad. People were gonna think I did it. Especially since the body was now cut up into jagged pieces. I was freaking out and letting my dog ( Ems) know how I felt. She just looked worried ( mostly because I was). Then wouldn't you know it. The police show up. They were undercovers or feds because they weren't in the blues but in suits. Carried themselves all stiff and professional like. UGH! I had to distract them and get away. They wanted a look around ( the environment now slowly morphs into an apartment) I mislead them to some inane room and ask Ems to help me out so that I can get away.
Good old Ems. I dunno what she did but I was able to make it into the thriftstore ( environment was slowly morphing). I need to get a change of clothing and quick but I have no money. My friends work for the shop and I am trying to get them to help me however I have one ( a gal) who is confused and trying to set up merchandise and another ( a male in a bright blue shirt) who is doing nothing butting zipping back and forth. It's like he has something ( EVERYTHING) to do (AT ONCE) and needs to have a sedative. I finally get an outfit ( though why I chose a teal dress top and a laced crochet shawl I could na tell you.....I think it is because it was the only thing that my female friend had put up and forgotten about).
I go to a changing room.
It's urgent now because the cops are on my tail and they have machine guns now. Thankfully blueshirt is enough of a distraction for a small circus ( his coworkers seem used to his zest for they all ignore him).
I'm in the changing room but it is cheap ( where did that door go??). It's got a curtain instead. As I am changing two people open it. Both goth/punk. One being a large Samoan type and the other a very pale thin gal. I told them the room was being occupied. They said they didna mind.
Great. Voyeurs. Fuggit I didna have time to argue and I didna want to draw attention to myself so I just ignored them (whatever floats your boat).
Now I have to get out. There is a motorcycle that my friend will loan me. It's locked up though. And the cops are still after me. I need my friends to distract them while I get the damn vehicle unlocked and out the back door. I get it unlocked but it is so heavy and stubborn.
This is truly pissing me off.......
My friends cover for me and I get out the back. I've never been in charge of a motorcycle before.....that's okay there are some other cyclers in the parking lot and they help me.
It's wet out though and misty. I wish I had a jacket because I am cold. The bike is doing great and all I have to do is turn around and go up this hill that leads to the forest. Damn bike is acting up now though. No power and all pull.
I panic.....
(Environment morphs again)
Where the hill was is an apartment complex. A cop pulls up but he's not really a cop. He's a security guy and is asking about the college across the street. It's not a college but I lie to him and convince him of whatever he needed to get going. Only he doesn't. He becomes a tenant with lots of groceries so I tell my friends ( I just seem to have loads of dream friends) to help him inside with his groceries.
It's a 3 story apt. Complex and he is on the first floor. I see Hacksaw ( a real life friend's dog....he's a big ol white american bulldog) come down from the third floor so I go up into that apartment for help. Only it someone I do na know ( and I guess the third floor gets extra floors inside). The place is terrible. Dark. Messy. Iron pots and pans in a huge sink balanced precariously upon each other. Old grease spots, cups of god knows what moldering. Real gross. Oh yeah and the large black fellow who lived there was not pleased at the intrusion so I turned and ran down all the stairs ( they had corners too and were old, warped, narrow and wooden....) I get outside and go to what I thought was the first floor apartment but it was a second floor apartment.
There was a meeting going on in the kitchen with a social worker ( she was pale with long curly brown hair), my son and some kid I assumed was my son's friend. I had a small exchange with them and then I went to go out the back porch.
UGH!
It was a terribly dilapidated catwalk! There was no way I could even step foot on it!
By now going out the front door was impossible. So I opened up the kitchen window and jumped. I damn near slipped on the dew in the grass (it was night now).
The apartment manager was after me now. She was a large black woman in a pink robe. She was in her 40's and was VERY grumpy. She did not run she just walked. With slow methodical purpose. She scared the crap out of me ( you shoulda seen the beat down look in her eyes!).
She told me that yeah I better run but it wouldn't matter. Stick to the shadows.
I have done night walking before and I know how this game runs though so I take off. But there are streetlights EVERYWHERE!
(Environment blends and transportation morphs)
I'm on a bike and haulin arse. I'm trying to be quick and unseen but it's like every kid in the neighborhood ( which slowly turns into a park) is up and out. And they just stare and watch me. It's creepy. More than creepy. It makes eerie look like a walk in the.....scuse the pun there.
So I'm biking. Then I am walking ( the bike left at some point). I look behind me and there is that woman still just walkin after me with a look to beat down on her face. It's like she knows she has all the time in the world to get me.
UGH!
I'm so very lost. Never been in this part of the neighborhood. And then I see a street all lit up (daysidish now?) and I reconize it.
(Environment morphs to an outside sort of mall)
There are booths everywhere. It's all bright and glittery. There is a booth with sequined clothes, there is a gal getting a "tramp stamp" tattoo and there is another booth with hair accessories. This one looks like it has enough things to hide me so I go in. The gal running the place starts talking to me about the merchandise and I go along with it. Then I find out it'snot a booth or store. There is no street. This is a wedge corner trap thing and I can't get out! There is no room to turn around and no where to go! And yup.....that woman was still after me and getting closer......
Then I woke.
The whole dream shoulda been a tip off I was dreaming. However like I said before....no matter how ridiculous it gets it all FEELS real. Gravel crunching under my feet, the smell of old grease in the air, the wind on my arms and face, the sprinkling of mist, the sounds of other peoples steps on linoleum.......yeah.
At any rate I did NOT feel well rested when I woke up. I was achey and exhausted and quite frankly pissed that I did not win some sort of award for running a ridiculous gauntlet in my sleep.
So anyone wanna ride the rollercoaster I call my subconscious?
