Hundreds, if not thousands, of couples all over the country are denied the right to marry because the person they love is of the same sex.
In our military thousands of people have been discharged from service or, after being trained and serving their time, do not reinlist because of a "lovely" little law called "don't ask, don't tell" because of this countries homophobic belief that open homosexuals in the military will distract people from doing their job.
Thousands of kids are given up for adoption, and their are plenty of loving and willing couples who want to adopt these children and give them the homes they want, but many states do not allow these couples to adopt because of their orientation.
What is a country, built upon equality, so afraid of? Everything about this, refusing people who love each other equal rights over something so ridiculous. It's hysteria and angers me to no end.
Meh, figured i'd have a little rant. If you have anything to add feel free to do so.

I could not have said it better myself. I shall contribute to the rant another day.
Not being in the same country I cant see the same problems you see, but here in "lovely" Denmark I believe we have the same problems with the adoption prosess but I do believe that homoseksuals(sp?) are allowed to "marry" here... But I will look it up some other time...
