Some of you know and some of you may not but last month when we went in for another ultrasound for Lucy they found several cysts on her kidneys. Today we had a follow up with a nephrologist and it's been determined that she most likely has poly-cycstic-kidney disease. We don't know if it is the dominant or recessive kind but it is a genetic disorder all the same. There is also something not quite right with her liver and she has borderline high blood pressure.

She has to go for another abdominal ultrasound, another echo-cardiogram to look for abnormalities in her heart and a CT scan to see if she might have a tumor in her brain, on top of genetic blood testing. It's all a bit much to take in right now.

There are a few other diagnosis' that she could have instead however each one is a little worse than the last. There is no cure and treatment is limited. Pretty much they just watch and watch out for end stage kidney failure. The only thing they can do then is a transplant.

Sorry to hear that. HOpefully, everything turns out for the better. Positive thinking, humor, laughter and smiling are some of the best medicines. Those have helped people heal themselves etc, and baffle doctors.

Thanks. My biggest personal problem right now is letting my mind wander. I'm in a really dark place right now and fighting to stay positive. I'm all strength on the outside and a complete mess on the inside.
