I am not an expert at Pagan worship, however, I was influenced by Paganism at an early age. When I was in elementary school we learned about Greek and Roman classical mythology in class. I was sort of a "latchkey" kid. My single mother worked constantly and my siblings and I came home to an empty house after school. Often, when I walked to and from school, I would wander off the sidewalk and meander along a dirt road behind some shops. There was a small brook behind the shops, which were built on wooden stilts so the water could run underneath.
This brook became my imaginary sacred site where Pagan Gods and Goddesses reigned. I read as much as I could and believed in Pagan Mythology as only a child can, marveling at photos of ancient temples and statues in the storybooks. Within a year of study and sacred walks by the brook, my mother met a wonderful man at work. He loved children and wanted to include all of us in family outings. My mother eventually married this man who adopted me and my siblings as his own children. Within a few years our lives became more like a normal family, a blessing indeed.
At the time I thought this was all a coincidence. That my life became bearable for some reason, but not because of my imagination and study (worship?) of those mythological beings. Now I notice there is a recent resurfacing of Paganism, and I am not ashamed to say "Paganism Works". It worked for me when nothing else seemed to go my way.
