Re: Not *quite* what I was looking for ... but pretty cool none-the-less
Wow, that's a pretty nifty awesome kit there. I don't normal wear much make up at all unless I'm going out clubbing or for cosplay but I would definitely invest in something like that even still.
Re: Not *quite* what I was looking for ... but pretty cool none-the-less
Story time ...
So after looking at this thing for a bit I realized that my daughter is growing up. She's 12 and a half now, all her friends are wearing make up, and her cousins who are her age are wearing make up now too. I've been very adamant about her NOT wearing make up.
Now there's a reason. I personally dislike make up on women. The reason is that most women put too much on and never really learned how to apply it properly. Women have a natural beauty to their coloration and lines on their face, and if make up is worn it should be done in such a way as to accentuate those lines and colors. Not cover them up.
So back to the story. My daughter has grown quite a lot in the last couple of years and slowly she's turning into a young woman, sooner than I'd like, but then again, I'm daddy. So I decided today after Navi basically beat me upside the head with that link (HEY! HEY! LOOK! LISTEN!!!) that I would go and get her a kit and let her grow up.
So $70 and everything she'll need from base to mascara and we have a good kit with case for her.
Side note: I have Metro tendencies and even went through a time where I wore makeup myself (didn't go over well in rural farmland Utah ... that's another story though). I actually got good enough to where I was doing the girl's makeup for them before school started.
So anyway, I got the kit, and go home and told my daughter, "We have to talk. Go to your room, I'll call you when I'm ready." and proceeded to put the kit together. Then calling my daughter downstairs from her room, acting all mad and shit of course, I talked with her for about 30 minutes on different things from school to her social life. Then stepped away from the carrying case and watched her light up like a Christmas light when she saw it was make up.
After explaining my rules to her as far as when, and where the make up is appropriate I let her go and do her practice run. After she put the makeup in the bathroom and prepped the bathroom for her excursion into make up wearing land, she came down and gave me a hug and said to me, "No matter what our current situation is dad, I love you, and don't ever think that you are doing a bad job at being 'Dad'."
I'm still tearing up because of this twelve year old girl that was never supposed to grow up ... I have a really bad feeling that she's gonna break my heart into pieces when she finally does find the right someone ...

That is so awesome of you! Every girl needs a dad like you. I wonder if my daughter's father is going to be as cool when it comes to makeup in about 10 years ().
