.....Reference books on Heathenism especially Anglo-Saxon/ Germanic lore legends/ saga's.
Much (almost all) of the written text was destroyed by the Church in England during the darkages, much of what we know is actually taken from Church documents from authors such as Bede, or roman historians like Tacticus, which makes a bit of a slog for your average joe like me to wade through .
Books by Brian Bates, such as The way of Wryd (fiction) and The real Middle earth have been of great help, currently waiting for Wisdom of Wyrd to be delivered.
So really I'm looking for idea's of more titles/ authors to keep an eye out for, if anyone can help plz
I've found a couple of interesting websites on it but more than one have rightwing tendancies so I'm lurking for info but avoiding propaganda .

It seems that H.R Ellis Davidson comes highly recommended or has published a significant amount of non-fluff Germanic/Nordic books.

friend turned me onto half.com for some cheap textbooks and/or books. hope that helps. (I haven't played with it much, but when I searched for comparative religion books, they have a ton of books. I am sure they might have few of what you are looking for too.)
