Hmmmmm.....so what are your thoughts on that?
For that matter what makes a witch ( in your opinion)?

Someone said to me the other day "I met a real witch, and not one of those fake wanna be's" and I thought...well what really defines a witch?
We can dislike authors till we're blue in the face. We can dislike other people and their idea of what it means to be a witch or attempt at defining one. Simply put I believe that only you can define yourself and what it means for YOU to be a witch.
If that means you know when your child is upset and you've not even seen them that day...
If that means you can make someone smile through their fears...
If that means you respect yourself and the fact you're apart of something bigger than you can define...
Then you sir or madam...are a witch

That would be closer to my recipe. I don't think one should define ones self by something other people have created. (if that makes sense it did in my head) So while I like Scott Cunningham and have many of his books i don't think I personally should be considered a witch or not just because i do.
I don't like the term "witch" to be honest there are way to many negative connections to that word. As a history major I could probably write a dissertation on them. I'll use any word but that if I can. Anyway getting back on topic. I think I agree with Macha, whatever it means to you is what should define your witchiness I suppose. That was rather a long ramble to say nothing i'm pretty sure. *laughs*

those are the ones I'd choose
AND I'd add
100 parts sense of humour!
I think that what defines me as a Witch is a clear, focused and conscious effort to trascend the everyday experience and see reality in all its meaning. I am quite comfortable with the word Witch, either in English or in Spanish. I've been a Witch too long to care about what people think of that word LOL!
I've written elsewhere about my dislike of labels. If someone tells you they identify themselves as a witch, I would tend to take their word for it, but I would clarify what that means to them.
