Okay here is a portion of my zoo.
Not included ( but coming soon) are my beta fish
Flail
Dzuh
Blubelle
Snowflake
My gold fish Nose
My African Fantail Catfish Charlie
Crawler and Freddy the Hermit Crabs
And Kevin the Demon Pigeon
For now I give you......
Hoody my Arkansan Calico who currently lives behind the desktop. I found her under the hood of a truck hence her name...
Hoodlet ( Let Let for short) who as you notice looks like her mom ( hence her name)
Esque ( short for Turveyesque named for his Uncle Topsy Turvey whom Esque looks like). He also goes by "Mexicat". This is LetLet's son from litter one.
'Manda my 15 pound antisocial kitty. She is LetLet's daughter from litter two.
Prissy....'Manda's littermate (and a clone of her father Bop who was a stray and pretty much is a roving Tom these days).
Scotty....either her ears are cropped or she has Scottish Foldear in her system because she has funky ears. Hence her name. She is a stray who was in a neighbors yard crying piteously for over a day. I told her if she came to MY side of the fence I would take care of her. Apparently she understands human as she has loyally been with us ( oustide) since.
El Pollo my reiki lovin' Oscar who has a serious neurosis about rearranging his tank several times a day.
Picasso my bottom feeding tank cleaning Plecassimus ( who tweaks out worse than El Pollo when I have to reach in and fix anything).
This 60 pound golden furry pillow is Link....named after everyone's favorite Hylian defender ( see Zelda games). However he fails to stand up to his name. He is my "Australian Cattle Shepherd" pound puppy mix. Right now he is taking a nap. His best friend in the world is ANY reflective light source ( flash lights, lazer lights, disco balls, CDs). He lives for those moments when he can smash his face into a lit up service. Again a defender of any realm he is not.
Emily ( Ems). She is a pitbull mix ( we think with Greyhound). She is about 40 something pounds and super nimble. She is my empathy dog. If you are feeling out of sorts she will be by your side worried and waiting to make you feel better with snuggles and licks ( she is SUCH a tattle tale!) hence her title "Nurse Ems". Right now she is showing Link how to nap properly ( she likes to be in charge).
I will try to get better pics of my pups. Bubby took them with the camera phone and it was at night so everyone was sleepy for some reason.
And I'll see about getting pics of the rest of my zoo.
Well I didna take pics of Ninja and Miranda ( the Hawaiian cats I do na claim as my own), Bop, Starvin Marvin or Rapist Kat ( er.. I mean Chimney Sweep...MArvin's donor) as they are all technically alley cats that only come to the back door....
And I was only the crazy cat lady a couple of times ( like when Felicia... a cat we had but ran off.... and Prissy had their litters within a month of each other or the time someone dumped a mamma cat and her NINE babies off in the alley and I took them in long enough to get them placed in a rescue facility).
So for the record I am NOT the crazy cat lady.
What was that noise?
Oops....
*takes 'Manda out from under knees*
I guess I was accidentally using her as a cushion.......
Ok, I have lived in the Tacoma area my whole life, and never heard South Tacoma Way referred to as "STW". South Tacoma Way is long, going all the way from Pacific Highway in Lakewood, to Pacific Avenue at the beginning of the downtown area. At the north end, it is probably less than a mile from the edge of Hilltop.
Interestingly, driving along the length of SoTac is a good lesson in the history of Asian immigration to Tacoma.
WOW CS that is a lot of animals. I have one cat and my mom has a kitten. The kitten hates me (odd considering the other cat is my familier and i've never had issues with cats before.) I'll dig up pictures of them both. *laughs*
I was "told" to do a three day fast sorta thing. Didna know why. Did it anyways ( and it sucked ).
The end of day three I set up a circle and waited. And waited and waited and did that some more. Nothing.
Just as I took it down out from no where comes this grey striped tabby just boppin his head and body up against me as if we were old highschool buddies.
Hence his name Bop.
So I took him in.
He totally owned me. No seriously. He SPRAYED ME as his property and did other uncatly things to my legs. I have no idea what his issue was. He still had property management issues AFTER we had him fixed.
I am assuming that he was someone's housepet and when they moved they abandoned him.
When we moved from STW ( and I been calling South Tacoma Way STW for something like 17 years ) to (friendly) HillTop we took him with ( no cat left behind....).
His behaviour when we packed only reinforced my theory that he was an abandoned cat as he freaked out terribly when he saw the boxes.
He was alwas an indoor/outdoor cat.
Anyways after about a year or two living here he became more of an outdoor cat and eventually threw us under the bus for the neighbor ( who had a cat named Sammy that looked like Bop....Sammy I am assuming died as we have na seen him in a few years so I think the owners just spoiled Bop).
Bop still comes by from time to time to let us know he is okay and get some loves ons.
And yes STW is a very long stretch and at somepoint is a pretty much all Korean district ( which has earned that stretch the local unPC name of South Korean Way).
So no this was na a homeward bound or incredible journey story. It was a no cat left behind deal.
