Aren't they just the CUTEST????
I remember way back in the day when I lived in this ghetto ass apt. complex there was a 'possum I named Mr.P (I can't name animals so sue me). He was friendly enough to accept bread from my hand but grumpy enough to hiss and grump about the entire transaction.
'Possums are interesting critters as that their defense ( besides being cute, grumpy, full of sharp teeth and a bit of an attitude if caught on a bad day) is playing dead so convincingly that their heart beat actually slows, they stiffen and even give off a musky scent that says "roadkill". Of course baby 'possums can actually frighten themselves into this state ( seen it first hand behind my stove no less...that's another story though). And now you know what it means to be scared stiff.....
I tangent though......
Opossum means Diversion. We covered that with his confuse the enemy by dropping dead ploy. 'possum reminds you to use strategy. There are always more than one way to tackle a situation, sometimes that way is rolling over for awhile ( however if you find yourself in that position already then 'possum may be trying to nudge you awake and off your arse into activity.....you can only roll over and stink of death for so long before you stagnate or believe you really are dead....that's no way to progress out of a problem or situation).
'possum sometimes acts as a message in expecting the unexpected and it would be in your best interst to keep your clever wits about you to get through that situation.
So fellow, use your brain ( and maybe even instincts) to get past that barrier. What is your strategy? Are you using one? Is it working for you or is it time to ( wake up or play dead) switch up a bit.
Maybe none of this hits home right now. If that is the case then just keep an eye out. If it's not in your current situation, then this may be good info to keep in mind when you need it.
Man I miss my grumpy old 'possum. He was cool.
