"Xnoubis, a Pagan worshipper, stuffed £6,570 into a bag and told her to “have a nice day” before calmly walking out of the HSBC branch in Terminus Road, Eastbourne."
Well he was polite about it. You have to give him kudos for remembering his manners.
What gets me is WHY did they have to mention Goth?
Really?
Do we care if the robber was goth, black, purple, christian, female or any of that? He didna harm anyone, had manners and even turned himself in. What does Goth have to do with any of that?
Real news worth detailing is if it were a dog that held up the bank. For sure I would want to know which breed ( a min pin? Dobie? Poodle?).
No wait....I suppose that would be species profiling then no?
Hmmmmm.....I suppose knowing whether it was a small dog or a large dog would be okay. After all you would expect a large dog to pull off a bank robbery so it would be newsworthy to find a small dog pulling off the same feat.
Yes.
That is the type of news I would like reported.
As far as I am concerned the only thing worth noting about this hold up was the robber's manners ( good for him!).
That's okay SanD.
I forgive you.
It's because I am na Pagan.
I am The Standard.
Huuuge difference you know. And that is why I can forgive you. For starters it does na apply to me.....
Well actually I am reading a book and the main char is a journalist and its given me some insight to that job. So the way the article was written may have nothing to do with the reporter. It actually gives you insight on the editor and how the paper wants information ran and percieved.
Check out Begin To Exit Here by John Welter. It is a hilarious and noteworthy read.
