Personally, I usually get feelings and visions. I've also been able to read aura's from a far (I think I did this a LOOOOOONG time ago for CS) as well as those around me. It's funny because if a friend tries to sneak up on me my mind's eye usually picks up their aura before I even hear them.
I haven't had a lot of contact with spirits lately. I'm not sure why this is but for the moment I don't mind. As it was said earlier your best bet in your vision is to just talk with them. I found that once I could realize while asleep the difference between a dream and a vision communication became much easier. It's not the way for everyone but you may want to at least try.

I'm not sure what the hulabaloo is about Ouija boards. Its a piece of wood with some letters and numbers on it, with a piece of plastic you use as a guide. Its just a tool. It all depends on how you use it. If you want to be scared, you will be scared. I've used a board in the past and nothing ill befell me, beyond the thrill of fear....very much like telling spooky stories around a campfire. I suspect the horror stories we hear about Ouija boards, if they are at all true, are a mere handful compared to the hundreds, if not thousands of people who owned one and used them on an occasional basis.
I have also heard that the movement of the thingymabob (that plastic guide) isn't necessarily moved by the power of spirits...but by the unconcious psychokinetic manipulation of the participants.
And there is always the power of belief....if you believe something can hurt you, its possible it will.
My only experiences with all this - is when life gets harried and I am struggling to figure out if I am making the right decisions....I will wake in the middle of the night to the smell of cigarette smoke. My DH started smoking just before he passed. I always smile, say thank you, and go back to sleep, calmed and settled.
Before ya ask...I live on acreage, no neighbors, and I used to check on the kids, just to make sure ;-) LOL
