So I've discussed reiki as a healing technique ( see the other threads for more details). A lot of people think that means you have to be touched. This puts some people off ( everyone has their own personal space boundaries).
Well guess what folks? The nice thing about working with reiki is that it is NOT necessary to have hands physically touch you. Nice huh? You could be sitting across the room and still successfully receive a treatment. Even better.....you don't even have to be PRESENT to receive a treatment. Yeppers n peppers.

So how does THAT work? Reiki ( like any energy you are working with) does not care. That means it does not care if you are right next to me or 400 miles away when you receive a treatment. It's the intent of the practitioner and the openness of the person receiving it that guides reiki where to go.

"is she open"
Yeah but don't you wanna know where Texas is?
"She is open. That is all I need"
Pretty simple.
Does that apply to online treatments?
Sure does. It's because it's our own brain that is limited in concept of distance ( time and travel).
"400 miles away? Why that is impossible!"
Why? Because you can't imagine traveling 400 miles almost instantaneously because that would take several hours or days depending on mode of transportation?
Reiki ( and energy in general) is not limited by that concept. Energy itself could care less. When you work with energy ( in general) you program it so if you believe 400 miles is too far then your energy won't go very far will it? As for reiki energy that too is neutral and could care less. If you can't let go of your own preconception of what is "far" then you will have a harder time working with reiki ( remember when working with reiki it is the reiki that is in charge so to speak).
As for being the receiver of reiki.....it does na matter how far away you are. As long as you are sincerely open ( agreeable to receiving reiki energy) then you will get it. I know I have successfully sent reiki as far as Australia

Can attunements be done far away?
Yup.
Same principle applies in that the energy you are working with is not limited by distance
So how DOES a practitioner send reiki long distance?
Well honestly that depends on the practitioner. There are many ways to do it. Here are some techniques I have used or have heard of.....
Using the picture of a person
Writing the person's name down and using that
Using a doll and focusing on the doll as if it were the actual person
Making an "invisible" working model in the air ( I use this when I am doing an online session)
Online reiki?
Yeah. Same concept of long distance reiki in that it doesn't matter where you are at as long as you are open to it. So yes you can receive a treatment/session or even an attunement online.
Attunements online....I am sure there are a hundred sites out there saying that the person can attune you for x amount of money.
For an attunement I personally would seek someone IN PERSON before doing any online work. Simply because anyone can put up a site and say one thing or another.
At any rate reiki does work online.
For me it's somewhat awkward ( my training didna cover stuff like that
so I learned what to do listening to reiki) as I may be in chat when I offer ( or they ask) and so I start the session with my "bubble buddy" ( invisible working model) and it's through that I work with. In between sending the energy I may have questions or the person recieving may and so I have to sort of pause things in order to type.
I'm sure there is someone out there moaning how this is probably not proper technique....it's what I was taught to do ( by listening to reiki) and has always worked out to benefit the onliner so I am not worried about it.
As for working with someone long distance, there are some times when it is almost impossible to set up a direct time ( believe it or not you do na have to be still, meditating and all that to receive it). In cases like that I just ask the person to be open to it and I will send it approximately such n such time.
It works ( as vague as the game plan sounds). CR was one of those peoples ( ask him about the donkey kicker
).
