This rit is good for anyone, even those who think that they had a perfect childhood. You do not always realize the past is dragging you down until it is too late, and you would be amazed by what you can find out about yourself!
You will need:
Yellow candles Kamea of sol A box of any shape or size A solar incense (And muxic of a childlike nature may be used to enhance the atmosphere)
Preparation:
The box should have a lid. Paint the inside glossy black, or line it with an irregular reflective surface, such as aluminum foil. The outside should be decorated with any drawings, pictures, or whatever one may want to help evoke a childhood state of mind, and to help trigger childhood memories.
Start with an opening of any sort you feel comfortble with. Light candles and incensed as desired. State the intent: "It is my will to greetmy past, and accept it for what it is."
Recite the invocation:
I call the past to meet the
present,
that the future may be
bright.
I bring forth from
the dark,
and hold me to the light.
Let not the past controlmy
present,
let not the future be as dark as
night.
I meet and greet me with
open arms,
and move back into the light.
At this point sit quietly and meditate quietly on the box. When you feel you are ready, open the box and gaze into it. You will see whatever you will see (kinda cryptic isn't it? Well no one can tell you what you will be seeing...after all it is your own past). Gaze in and meditate on what you find there. Perhaps you will see nothing. If that is the case you can try and spurr on images by trying to remember and meditate on the bad things in your life (yes you heard me correctly the BAD things...all the jibes, teasings and pranks you have ever been the butt end to, perhaps all the slights or injustices you felt you endured...ect). Remember you are trying to embrace the parts of the past you do na remember. These tend to be the rougher parts of our growing up. Meditate on it. Relive it. (cry if u need to its okay we have all "been there"). Close the box when you feel you are done with this. Now close your eyes again. Focus on all the good times you ever had as a child. It does na matter if it is just a smell or a feeling (wind on your face, sun on your arms, the smell of a movie theater..ect).Just focus on all the good times you had growing up. When you feel you are done with this part of the meditation take a deep cleansing breath. Exhale slowly as you open your eyes. Now write down your meditations (both the bad ones and the good ones). Make sure they both have their own seperate sections or pages. BE HONEST with yourself. You have nothing to hide or worry about.
If you wanted to you could include this in your own BOS.
