Talking Blessingway

I should have posted this much earlier, but I am attending my first Blessingway tomorrow - perhaps her child will follow this magnificent Full Moon.

Anywho, what are your favorite rituals at blessingways? Here is what we have planned so far...

I coached the casting of mama's belly though was unable to actually help physically due to distance and scheduling. We asked that everyone bring lovelies to decorate the cast tomorrow. I am making sweet potato slices for the sushi and will be applying the blueberry mask and giving her a facial massage. I will take a bead for the necklace and some seeds for the altar...

I am very VERY excited and feared I would not be able to make it there but wouldn't you know, a noble pagan reached out to me and will be picking me up and helping with my child while I give the facial and then she and I will share the mamacare for any children present... She and I discovered that we both grew up but two counties away in our home state some 1800 miles from here...

Below is our Blessingway "plan":

Hey Beautifuls! I have a few things to share. Thanks to E's brilliant idea to ask W what kind of foods she wants at the Blessingway the idea for the Sushi Rollin Feast sprouted. W shared she is tired of eating meat. Therefore she wanted something different and nutritious. She decided the Sushi Rollin feast is where it's at. This will be vegetarian. I will make mass quantity of sushi rice, provide nori sheets, tempeh strips, and make an almond cream dressing. Mh is bringing wasabi and a seaweed salad. I want to put out suggestions for other foods that will compliment:
Slices of : cucumber, carrots, beets, sprouts, cooked sweet potato, zucchini, greens (cooked and raw),......
Any great dressing or spread such as: avocado spread, sesame ginger dressing, hummus, nut butters, tahini, coconut cream spread, I'm sure there are bunches more
A soup would be delicious if anyone felt attracted to that idea. Possibly a Thai coconut soup, MMMMmmmmm
Wendi's Chocolate Cake request, other dessert ideas

Since all of us are involved I know this will be a delicious creative spread.
The ideas of activites that we can do at the Blessingway are so strengthening and sweet. There are a few things that each of can bring to the gathering for the activites:
* A bead for a necklace that we will string together to give to W to wear or have near her during the birth. The beads can have great significance and we can share that in a circle or they can simply be what one was attracted to offer.
* Ideas or any cut out or pictures that one may want to ass to the journal.
* We will all have an opportunity to shower W with encouragement and support during her journey of birthing and becoming a mother to another child. What a transformation! If you have any special songs, poems, books, anything else that you want to share.
* I also want to encourage us all to think and feel out what special appreciations we want to share with W about her. Also what prayers we have for her as well.
* Anything that we may want to decorate the altar with. Let's make a lovely Momma altar!!! Flowers and seeds are excellent
D will you make the meal angel chart? Do you remember how to do the cord web tying ceremony??
Ar will you bring your henna?
An will you bring the journal that we will decorate and give to W?
T and A are you two good with getting the supplies for the belly cast?
M are you still bringing the Honey Blueberry Facial?? I hope so.

FYI:
My first Blessingway was so amazing that I volunteered to organize our "angel meals" group and future endeavors - once a geek, always a geek - yes?

Here are some pics. I got my first Henna ever!

P.S.
yes, that is my celtic wedding band on my "middle finger" now, the only finger it "fits."

FYI: I purchased it MYSELF for only $9 at our local farmer's market soon after my "marriage" ...
