This is actually a form of using a prayer box ( something I recently found out about even though I been using my wish dish for years).
You don't really need alot. A special box ( mine was a small plastic lunch box with a smiley face on it) , some paper, a pen ( or whatever you prefer to write with), and your deity candle ( the one you use to connect with whatever deity you connect with).
Don't sweat it if you don't have a deity candle. You can always use a colored candle appropriate for what you are "wishing" ( asking /praying) for. If you haven't a clue about that either still no worries. A white candle will do just as well.
In my experience, magic is only as picky as you make it out to be.
So what are you using your Happy Dish for? I use mine to drop prayers for myself ( give me strength) or for others. Always for positive reasons though ( that's how I do it).
I usually do this on the Full Moon ( personal preference there).
So with your piece of paper write out your request.
If you want you can light some incense if it helps you focus your request.
Light your candle and focus.
As you offer your paper up to your Happy Dish you can chant:
"(Insert the name of your deity here or you can say Lord/Lady...God/Goddess...whatever you connect with)
Please hear me
Help me with my written plea
Thank you ( Insert name of deity again here)
Blessed Be
When your request has been answered remember to give thanks.
I leave my Wish in my Dish for a month. You can then release it ( burn it), bury it or if it is for another person give it to them to do as they see fit with it.
