Ooh such a pretty green sparkly to play with no? So bright and vibrant a shade.
So other than being a gorgeous gemstone to look at, what can you use it for?
Well personally other than an occasional sweet adornment I have not worked with this stone ( nor have I come across anyone who seemed to "need" it when working with stones) however I have heard a thing or two about Emerald.
It is known as a "stone of successful love" and is said to be helpful in providing domestic related happiness by instilling sensitivity and loyalty within oneself as well as within others.
It is said to help one with focus and memory as well as helping in one make "the right" decision in tough situations. Perhaps this as well as it's clear green hue was the reason that royalty and very well off persons considered this stone to be such a gem to subtley represent social grace and elequence no?
Many people consider this a lucky stone ( some will wear it in hopes of attracting wealth even). Perhaps the luck it brings has something to do with it's qualities for stimulating the heart chakra to help bring harmony in one's life, or it could be it's known uses for bringing to the forefront of the mind things unconsciously reconized.
Still one can could always work with Emerald to help remove negativity and help center oneself. Emerald is even used to help with meditation, to help achieve a deep meditative state.
So whether you are using this gemstone as a pretty bauble or are actively working with it for one of it's many uses, you are are sure to benefit from Emerald.
No wonder people from across the ages and around the world adore this gorgeous green stone!

Thanks for posting the emerald as it was a major reminder for me to focus on my body to be able to focus on work again. Gosh I really need to get myself an emerald as it combines the power of several stones I need to work with at the mo (sodalith and chalcedony).
Again just a few ad-ons.
It's easy in cleaning and loading really! To cleanse an emerald make sure to hold it into running water (lukewarm) once a month. It can be (re-)charged by being but into the morning or evening sun and really just needs a brief glimpse. As an emerald is quite powerful in itself there won't be much need to recharge it long. You might not have to do it at all when storing it together with a ruby or a clear quartz. Should you posess a neglace made of emerald you can put it into a bowl with small haematites + rubies over night and you'll have it cleansed and re-charged at the same time.
Besides all of the "emotional" functions it has, it can help you cure sinusitis, severe headaches and any illnesses concerning eyes or guts. It's also said to be good for any muscular or bone-related conditions when used as a healing water.
From my own experiences I can definitely confirm the eye-part! I gave mine away to a mate who's suffering from a permanent reduction of her sight and it worked good for her to keep a status for some time.
Reading the emotional parts again - I really need to get a new one ...
