Hellosies! This is what I look like in my human disguise...
I'm CelticSpider. Funny enough though I am neither Celtic or a Spider (something my lil online friend Spooder never lets me forget). I came by the name when I got my first tattoo. It is a Celtic Knotwork Spider in Red and Black. Oohs and ahhs. What can I say? I absolutely adore arachnids ( ironically I used to be a complete arachniphobe until I had an unusual bonding experience with my son's pet Pink Toe Tarantula).
I've been with TNP from almost the beginning and I am blessed to have CloudRunner as one of my closest friends. Thanks to him we have TNP which I fell in love with from the start.
So here is a little about me.
Wicca (in its general form) found me when I was 18. Back then information on paganism wasn't as easy to find. Nor was it as easy to hook up with pagany types (Wiccans, Pagans, Druids, Heathens, etc etc). So I was on my ownsome for several years.
This made me a real stickler for information. I like to reference and cross reference something to death. I also love to share with others things I have learned. And not just things I have learned from research either. I like to share things from my own personal experiences too.
In fact I even had my own MSN Group for a while called Celtic's Corner. I even won two awards for that place:
Here on the site when I speak about Wicca I come from my own experiences and practices as a mostly solitary and definately ecclectic practitioner. I thought I would clarify that even though I am familiar with different traditions I don't practice strictly within one. I don't even have a pantheon I operate under or a Patron Deity.
Wicca as a spiritual concept itself is something that connects with me to my core in a way I can't explain. Traditions of Wicca.....not so much. Quite frankly I'm drawn to many Shamnistic/Native American beliefs and practices. The only thing stopping me from fully persuing that is my own fear......which used to be"Am I too White to be practicing this?" ?
Now it's some of the more serious sides of that type of Spiritual Work ( not a fan of astral travel for instance).
Let's see what else......I've been working with the tarot for 17 years. I've done readings for people in person, online, and on the phone with no negative feedback ( so I guess I'm doing good eh?). I have several decks. One being your run of the mill traditional deck ( Major and Minor Arcana with Court Cards) the rest are Animal related Oracle style decks.
I'm a level 3 Reiki Practitioner. This means I am a type of energy healer person thing.
I was raised in a non religious yet open minded house so I've grown up accepting, embracing and even experiencing psychic and paranormal phenomena.Speaking of "psychic" I'm an empath and in the last couple of years have hit a new peak in growing and learning to use this for a multitude of purposes. Such as Channeling. Yeah that was a new one for me.
I put complete faith in intuition ( whom I call my "Niggle" who has never led me wrong).
At this point I have no idea what else to say so I'm just going to make a bullet list of random things.
I have two children whom I love and adore no matter what their teenagery ways do to my blood pressure.
I am married to a wonderful Sarge in the Army ( this will be our 10th year together and he has been deployed 3 times).
I am an avid animal lover and have enough pets to charge a small fee as a petting zoo.
I like to read just about anything ( except romance....ugh)
I crochet, knit, and loom knit. Don't ask me to sew. I can sew precisely like a machine....I just can't sew in an even line even if the damn line is RIGHT THERE to stitch on.
I like to watch terribly cheaply put together horror movies.
I translate for Spooder seeing as no one else would understand a word she says if I were na around.
I type funny (na n figger) however it's done deliberately as a way to better express myself online and it is not a form of illiteracy.
I like paisleys
I have a quirky sense of humour so beware
I have a tendency to come off blunt. I never mean anything I say to be with any intent of malice so if I come off wrong let me know so I can clarify what I meant.
If I do na have the answers to your questions I will do my damnedest to find a good resource to direct you to.
Ask CR about glitter ...
If there is anything else you would like to know about me feel free to ask.
-Oh yeah and I like sharp things.

Merry Meet, your posts are charming, and though I am not fond of sharp things or 'horror' films, I do like animals, dreamwork, runes and tarot etc etc...so we can easily be friends. Spooder is quite interesting. Do you read R.A. Salvadore, or know of his dark elf, Dritz? [try reading "Crystal Shard"] You would love him, he is the coolest of the dark elves and he and his 'kind' worship spiders [Loth]. I would be soooo interested in Spooder's opinion of the story.

Well CR isn't on much these days as he has a busy work schedule and a family.
I ADORE glitter ( and wish I could wear it more often however my husband is military and glitter as you know transfers. Back when we were dating his soldiers starting calling him Sgt. Glitterboyd ).
As for CR.....he used to live about 40 minutes or less away from me. Then he got a better job offer outta state. He held one of his many "famous" BBQ's" ( I still call him my BBQ Bitch) and I promised to help him make an impression on his new boss. Mind you he was driving cross country to his new job ( and would be sending for his family when he got settled).
I SLATHERED him in that fine white iridescent pixie dust glitter. That was my going away present for him.
On his way there he showered several times ( truck stops) and was as crisp and professional as can be when it came to meeting his boss for the first time.
His boss looked at him and said:
Look. I know you folks do it different up there by Seattle. I'll let the blonde highlights go. They don't look too bad.
I'll let the diamond earring slide because it doesn't look to tacky ( which CR replied that of course it wasn't tacky because it was REAL).
However, I must ask....WHAT is this thing with all that glitter?!!
BWAHAHAA!
I told him I would help him make an impression on his new boss and I did.
And there you have it.

Hi Celtic...thought I would sneak in here and take a peek at the Mod intros (actually, I just figured out you guys were in here )
I'm a former military wife myself and the mom of an Afghanistan vet, so I know how much the military hates glitter - from personal experience. When my three were little I had to make sure every speck of glitter was cleaned up before Daddy came home :p
I also knit and crochet though I didn't do much over the summer - summers in NC are so sticky that I tend to put the stuff away until the fall. But I need new pot holders and dish rags and my grandchildren need new hoodies, so I'll be off again.
BTW - we need a knitting/crocheting icon thingie down here...
