What Color Is Your Soul?

So I got to thinking recently ... actually this has been gnawing at me for some time. I am not exactly sure where this thought will go ... I don't think I really found an answer or form for it ...

It all started with one of those Quizilla things I came across.

"What color is your soul?"

I'm sure if you are a part of a group, bulletin system, blog group (etc) you have come across such similar "?"s.

"What gemstone are you?"

"What fairy are you?"

"What anime character are you?"

"What emotion are you?"

Etc etc ad nauseum (O I always WANTED to say that!).

The "what color is your soul" though got to me. For that matter what DOES your soul look like? Does anyone even think very far on that one?

I mean cartoons and movies, t.v. shows and the like all have us believing that our "soul" is more or less a transparent(ish) carbon copy of what we look like now.

How does that work if you are overweight/underweight and unhappy about it? Or if you wear glasses? Or are a burn victim survivor? Basically how does that work if you have a physical self image that you mentally or even emotionally perceive in a negative manner?

Dealing with self growth means looking within. Finding the beauty in our core. If there is no image there to expect then what is it that we are looking for? How do we accept it let alone heal it? If we are busy running from our physical self how are we to embrace our spiritual self?

For that matter what IS our soul about?

Is it the pristine core where the higher self resides? The connection to divinity that we so seek after, whether it be a conscious want/need or a subconscious meandering we call the unfocused journey of our life?

If that is the case then how do we make that journey to our Divine core when we have no real image to look forward to as we clean out the muck in our minds and emotions? The baggage? The hate? The ego? The insecurities? When you wash all that away and more, what are we left with?

Or is the Divine core we call our soul more like an eraser board that never quite rids itself of the marks we put on it? Is it a record of all that we were, have been, are, should be, could be, aren't and more? In that case what is it that we are weeding through to find? How is "cleaning out the attic" so to speak, going to help us?

Can we pick what our soul looks like? And if we did would it be a true picture? Does it grow and change with us? Like one minute our soul is a hungry devouring animal looking to fill the holes that others and ourselves have poked deep into it ... and the next it is a shining being full of bright brilliance and understanding?

Or is it always that bright being ... just masked and fettered by our obsessions and perceptions?

Does our image of it affect it? As in meditation or in trances when we are taught to "visualize" things ... does that affect it? Or does it affect us by projecting its image onto us? Perhaps it works both ways? Would that cycle it up though and make for understanding or is that a path that will lead to murky swamplands and questionable madness?

How to get to the core of something that has no image ... is that the challenge? How do you heal something you cannot see?

For that matter why is seeing so important?

Everything seems to come with some sort of visual description.

"Emotional Roller-coaster"

"Sharp, mental clarity"

" Healthy self- image"

"Dirty thoughts"

"Colorful vernacular"

Even the vague descriptions leave room for visuals ...

When we learn to see in other ways? Without the words? The colors? The need for impressions? Are those the real questions? To expand the mind first one must blind the eyes that lie.

The persona puts out what others wish to see.

The ego accepts only what it wishes to see.

The conscious accepts only that which its been taught to.

The subconscious sees everything with no filters.

Is any of it true?

The more we need to see the less we believe.

Is that the purpose to the Soul then? A constant reminder , guideline, teacher, in Faith? For Faith is the basis to connection with the Divine is it not? Belief is only half of the equation, and it seems to even get that far one must need proof of the seeing type an AWFUL lot.

That connection is what guides us to "do the right thing" for the betterment of not just the self, but the entirety of the whole (something one would need Faith in because no one can believe a picture that spans farther, wider and deeper than the sense to see, no?).

I warned you that this thought process was not complete. Or clear.

Drop the baggage.

The hate.

The fears.

The lies.

The personas.

The egos.

The hurts.

The regrets.

The shame.

The tears.

The grievances.

The blames.

The anxieties.

What are you left with?
What does it look like?
What does it FEEL like?

I think underneath all those things (and more) that it is a safe-house. For me. For you. For all of us.

It may not be the soul itself. It may actually BE the soul. When you go this far into it though and you start weaving in others the question becomes "who's soul?"

Does it matter? Does the soul have "an owner"?

Think about that for a moment. While your soul is individually unique to you, is it just yours?

If that is the case then what of all this whoo haa about soul mates? You know two people who have the complimentary soul elements to complete each other to be one being in two bodies?

Or the Japanese idea that twins really ARE one soul split between two bodies?

Or the idea that people we "click" with are really people from a larger group of soul pieces (soul group) and the more we find and "click" with the more whole we are?

Or the idea that some of are soul groups are not physically incarnate yet ... hence spirit guides and the like?

What about "soul kin"? Those people that we "click" with so closely we feel they are family?

And what happens when you meet someone you are "soul affiliated" with and can't stand someone else in their soul group or family? Does that mean you or they are NOT meant to be associating or is this a piece of the larger soul puzzle that we have to come to accept?

In that case our soul ... that tiny special piece ... isn't really ours in the first place is it?

When you heal a piece of yourself doesn't this mean in turn you heal someone else too?

O the larger picture can hurt no?

Think of the responsibility it places on all our shoulders. Not only to ourselves but to each other. To our friends, our families and even complete strangers. Even, most of all sometimes I think ... to the ones we cannot stand.

So what color is the piece that you hold within yourself?
